NisiOisin’s ‘Zoku Owarimonogatari’ Novel Gets Anime Adaptation in 2018!

2018 is going to be something for fans of the well-loved Monogatari franchise by NisiOisin. It was announced in a flier in the Owarimonogatari (Ogi Dark) Blu-Ray Disc on Wednesday that the “final season” 2014 novel Zoku Owarimonogatari is green-lit for an anime adaptation next year. No details have been revealed yet on what the anime’s format will be.

The Monogatari novel series began in 2006 with Bakemonogatari and its “final season” ended in 2014 with Zoku Owarimonogatari. Although the main series seemed to have ended. A number of “Off Season” novels were released namely Wazamonogatari, Orokamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari. The new “Monster Season” series novel titled “Shinobumonogatari was released last July.

The series is centered on a loner and failing student named Koyomi Araragi who meets different girls along the way with each having their own supernatural “oddity”.
