Palicos Get a Spotlight for the Newest Monster Hunter: World Trailer

Get ready for a hairy new trailer for “Monster Hunter: World” as it features the feline companions that are Palicos and their roles as hunters’ partners as well as other positive traits.

In terms of gameplay, the trailer shows that players will be able to customize their fur, pattern, eyes, ears, clothing, voice, and default armor in the character creator. Other features in the trailer show them in different armors and wielding various weapons and in one instance, one of them is riding a monster. More than this creative and action-packed look at the felines, there is also a look into how some Palicoes can hold jobs in town, with a chef preparing a meal shown in the trailer.

For those who do not know, Palicos are a Felyne or Melynx who decides to be a Monster Hunter and, as a result, will enter employment with a human hunter. Sometimes they fulfil important roles in the village but other times there also exist Wild Palicoes, those whom are not employed. In terms of skills, a Palico holds a variety called forte, with a total of ten and comprise of Leadership, Fighting, Protection, Support, Bombing, Stealing, Treasure, Launching, and Stamina.

“Monster Hunter: World” is an upcoming action role-playing video game and is the fifth installation of the “Monster Hunter” franchise. The game was first announced Sony’s E3 2017 conference and is set to be released on January 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a PC version to be announced for release at a later date.

As with previous games the player will be taking on the role of a Hunter. They are tasked with to hunting down to either kill or capture large monsters that roam outside their central base of Astera by the “Research Commission” in order for the creatures to be studied. Featured in the game are much larger maps, seamless transitions between zones in the map and four-player online co-op. The game will also be allowing players worldwide to play together, a first for the series.

Prior to this news, it was reported that the release date of the game’s PC release was still undecided as more focus will be placed on the console versions given that there will be many parts to be implemented for the game.
