‘The Emoji Movie’ is Getting a Home Video Japanese Dub Release

Posted in: Anime News

Although the movie received a lot of negative reviews especially on Rotten Tomatoes, The Emoji Movie is heading to home video with a Japanese dub release.

Hard to believe but the movie will have popular Japanese seiyuus as part of the Japanese dub cast like Takahiro Sakurai (Suzuku in Code Geass and Griffith in Berserk) and Tomokazu Sugita (Food Wars!’s Etsuya Eizan and Gintama’s Gintoki). They will be voicing the characters Gene and Hi-5 respectively. Other Japanese cast will include Koji Yusa, Shinichiro Miki, Takehito Koyasu, and Jouji Nakata.

The Japanese dub movie will be released digitally on February 17 and on home video on March 14 under the new title Emoji no Kuni no Gene (Country of Emoji’s Gene).
