It was revealed on Monday in the official Pokemon website that the 2018 anime movie of the popular franchise is now in the works. It was also confirmed that the studio that will be handling the movie’s production are Wit Studio and its mainstay studio Oriental Light and Magic. Wit Studio was notable for producing Kanberi of Iron Fortress and Attack on Titan. Aside from this, they are also known for assisting on animation production of some previous Pokemon films.
In the teaser that you can watch below, the text in Japanese translates to “Everyone’s story begins.”
The upcoming film is slated to be released on July 13. Tetsuo Yajima (Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You!) returns to direct this upcoming movie. Shizue Kaneko will be doing the character designs.
