Comic Newtype Releases 2 New Code Geass Manga

The classic mecha series known as “Code Geass” has been confirmed to receive two new manga works by the January 2018 issue of Kadokawa’s Newtype magazine.

Titled as “Katei Kyōshi no Lelouch-san” a.k.a “Lelouch the Home Tutor” and “Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch”, the two manga will be released on Comic Newtype on December 22 and 2018 respectively.

Along with the two manga it was announced that the “Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden: Shiro no Kishi, Kurenai no Yasha” a.k.a. “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Lancelot & Guren” spinoff manga (which was released on November 26 with prologue chapter on Comic Newtype) will be having its first chapter release on December 22. Taking charge of its story is Bisui Takahashi and will have character designs by Takahiro Kimura, art by Atsushi Soga and new Knightmare Frame designs done by Astrays.

In addition to this, another spin-off titled “Code Geass Danshō – Mosaic no Kakera” a.k.a. “Code Geass Story Fragment – Piece of the Mosaic” will be making its debut this fall on the official website of Yatate Bunko, Sunrise’s new light novel imprint

For the first manga, it is a comedy spinoff manga that is done by Urushidama and tells of Lelouch as a home tutor of C.C. The second manga which is illustrated by Tomofumi Ogasawara, the illustrator of the “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers” manga, is described as a “definitive edition.”

As for the two additional spin-offs, the first is a look into Suzaku and Kallen’s stories unseen in the manga. The second spin-off is described to be an omnibus work that will be focusing on six different protagonists whose lives are affected and changed by the events of the main story.

On the anime side of the franchise, the second and third film in the planned compilation film trilogy for the “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” and “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2” anime series are set to be released on February 10 and May 2018 respectively. They are titled “Code Geass” Hangyaku no Lelouch ~ Handō” a.k.a “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion ~ The Rebellion Path” and “Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch ~Ōdō” a.k.a. “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion ~ The Imperial Path”

Aside from the trilogy films, it has been announced that a sequel project titled “Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch” a.k.a. “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection” has been greenlit but no format has been confirmed yet.
