Hoenn Region Pokemon and Weather Forecasts are Added to Pokemon GO

“Pokemon GO” will soon be having new features added later this week and in the coming weeks as announced by Niantic. So far it has been confirmed that new Pokemon and a new feature to the game will be added.

The new Pokemon are from the Hoenn region, whom were introduced in the generation three games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. Confirmed to be added to the game by the developer are Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip. There will also be Groudon, Salamance, Shiftry, Aggron, and Ludicolo as shown by a video preview released. Prior to this reveal, the only Hoenn Pokemon who had made it to the game were the ghost Pokémon from this year’s Halloween event.

As for the new feature announced for the game, it is not a new area for trainers to explore but rather weather patterns that will be added to the game map for them to use. With this new feature, players can make use of real-world weather to find certain Pokemon. For example, trainers will find it easier to find Mudkip during rainy conditions.

In addition to this, there are some attacks that work better in certain conditions such as Charizard’s Fire Spin working better on sunny days. A sneak peek of this feature was shown by the developer who shared images of the game on sunny, rainy, snowy, foggy, partly cloudy, and windy days.

On another note, it was previously reported by Niantac that the invitation-only EX Raid Battle system has moved out of testing, and the developers outlined the finalized details of the feature. Players who gain an invitation into the system will not only receive invitations with an advanced notice to participate in EX Raid Battles but also be have a chance to find Mewtwo, the only Pokemon available in the system so far.

“Pokemon GO”, which was first launched in in select countries including the United States in July 2016, is a free-to-play, location-based augmented reality game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. In the game players will play as trainers whose mobile device’s GPS has ability to locate, capture, battle, and train Pokemon.
