Additional Cast and A Debut Date is Now Confirmed for Mob Psycho 100's Live Action Adaptation

The “Mob Psycho 100” live-action adaptation staff reveal more on the production of the work on Wednesday. These details include the release date, a new visual and more cast.

First, the series is set to be released on January 12 and will be premiering on Netflix as well as “MokuDora 25” time slot on January 18 then on January 23, the series will be shown on BS Japan. Directing the new live-action adaptation is Kouichi Sakamoto, who previously worked more on production and key animation.

Acting as the producer of the upcoming series is Fuminori Kobayashi. There are two people who are taking over the scripts and they are Reiko Yoshida, who worked on the screenplay of “A Silent Voice” and Kei Kunii who worked on a episode script for “Hell Girl: Three Vessels.”

Previously, the only revealed cast consisted of Tatsuomi Hamada, who previously played a role in the live-action adaptation of “The Wallflower”, as Mob/Shigeo Kageyama. Now the cast holds:

Kazumi Namioka as Reigen a self-proclaimed psychic who Mob considers as his master/mentor

Nogizaka46 member Yūki Yoda as Tsubomi, the prettiest girl in school and Mob’s childhood crush.

On a different note, more than a live-action adaptation, the series has also gained stage play starring voice actor Setsuo Ito who will be reprising his role as Mob from the anime. It will run from January 6-14.

“Mob Psycho 100” is a Japanese supernatural webmanga created by ONE and has been published by Ura Sunday since April 18, 2012. Currently the series has a total of 14 volumes released. The anime adaptation of the work came out in July 2016 under the production of studio Bones and ran for a total of 12 episodes before ending in September 2016. It was directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and written by Hiroshi Seko.

Kageyama Shigeo, who also goes by the name Mob, is a powerful psychic to the point of being able to vaish spirits with a single poke of his finger. With how much power he holds, he ensures to control them by locking away his emotions. But with each supernatural encounter he has, his suppressed emotions begins to grow and once he hits 100 percent, they unleash a much larger power within him.
