Fans Celebrate 1,000 Episodes of ‘Pokemon’!

1,000 episodes—we are pretty sure that Pokemon was part of your childhood at some point.

The 1,000th episode of the Pokemon anime series was aired in Japan on November 9 at 6:55pm Japan Standard Time. There was nothing special in this said episode for it was just about Lillie’s story after she recalled a personal trauma.

For the exact number of episodes of the Pokemon TV series, it is still at 990th. TV Tokyo considers the latest episode as the 1000th because they included the TV specials in their episode count. A lot of giveaways were recently announced by the channel as a way to celebrate this epic milestone.

Pokemon fans online have also joined in the celebration as they uploaded their own fan art on social media and adding the hashtag #アニポケ放送1000回記念 (AniPoke 1000th episode broadcast commemoration) on their posts. Below are just a few of the many:

Pokemon has been a part of every anime fan’s life for 20 years already. Cheers to more awesome years for this epic franchise. It’s time to catch them all!
