The second season of comedy series “Himouto! Umaru-chan” currently runs but as of today, the end of its manga series has come. After 5 years, the series reaches its end with Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine’s 50th volume.

To mark the end of the manga side of the franchise, manga author Sankaku Head releases a message on his official Twitter. More than being a message to all fans of the series though, Sankaku also reveals a special piece of news for the franchise. Translated to English, the post states:

“‘Himouto! Umaru-chan’ finally has its final chapter in Young Jump released today! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me so far! …And Umaru will move to her new stage…! She will come back in ‘Himouto! Umaru-chan G’! I hope you’ll be looking forward to it!”

Already it has been confirmed that the sequel would be making its debut in the 53rd issue of Weekly Young Jump to be released on November 30 and even has a key visual up as well.

Other than what has been stated and what has been revealed, Sankaku also relayed how happy he were that he were able to bring his idea of the ending to life as he had already drawn a conclusion in mind. Prior to this work, it was rare that he is able to bring his endings to life due to a variety of reasons and as such, the way he has been able to release the final chapter has made him as happy as can be.

“Himouto! Umaru-chan” has been serialized by Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump on March 14, 2013 and ended with a total of 11 volumes. Other than the announced sequel, Shueisha’s monthly magazine Miracle Jump released two chapters of an alternative version of the series in 2012.

The anime adaptation of the series came out in July 2015, and with a total of 12 episodes under the production of studio Doga Kobo ran until September 2015. The second season of the series just came out this season on October 8 with the title of “Himouto! Umaru-chan R” and currently has 6 episodes out.
