The wait is over for fans of horror series, “Princess Resurrection.” After four years of having not heard anything on the series and having ran for 20 volumes. it has finally returned for publication. The return will be set for November 25th and can be found in the January issue of the Shounen Sirius magazine, which conveniently announced the magazine’s return on Halloween.

“Princess Resurrection” is a horror comedy series that was created by Yasunori Mitsunaga. The series was first released in July 2005 and as stated, currently has 20 volumes serialized under the Monthly Shounen Sirius magazine with Kodansha as its publisher. It was just recently that the manga series reached North America and had released its 19th volume on October 24. The series had been under Del Rey until the manga division closed and is now under Kodansha Comics for digital release.

It gained an anime adaptation in April 2007 under the production of Madhouse with Masayuki Sakoi as its director and Mikiya Katakura as its composer. With a total of 26 episodes the series had ended on September 2007. Followed after the series in 2010 was an original video animation (OVA) with Keiichiro Kawaguchi as the director and Yasunori Mitsunaga as the writer. There were a total of 3 episode and each one was released alongside the 13th, 14th and 16th volume releases of the series.

The story of the series tells of a world where monsters of all kinds, whether they be werewolf, vampire or demon, all fear one being. Her name is Hime and with a smile on her face she fights against the forces of evil with a chainsaw and magical powers which allow her to raise the dead. Alongside her undead servant and a super cute robot, she’s a girl on a mission who’ll make sure no creature of darkness will take over.

The most recent news on the manga was that in 2012, a spin-off series titled Naqua-den was released. With the series it took focus on the spider goddess Nakua and a highschool boy named Tarou Kanda, who later turned out to be Nakua’s great spider Taroumaru in human form.
