With the new “Fire Emblem” game “Fire Emblem: Warriors” comes in a concept from the previous games, the support system. In comparison to the previous games however, there will be change made for the new game such as the effects it will have on relationships.
Generally the support system occurs when characters end their turn adjacent to each other or while one character is rescuing the other. For the new game, while you won’t suddenly see certain characters turning into couples, you will be affect party members permanently with certain relationships.
In the game, an active character can be paired with another playable character or NPC, but you can not swap to the NPC in the middle of a fight. When you boost relationships by defeating named captain characters and bosses you will have the opportunity to gain items that can be used on ability-granting crests or occasionally support conversations.
Within the game itself however, one of the skill types for relationships to have are Crest Marker skills. These are skills for your characters in which you can use to improve people and make them even more useful by having them bond with other characters. This not only results in a formed relationship but also the ability to share skills by getting the B and A-level Support items. The most useful skill to have however, is a skill that increases standard and strong attack speed called the Ryoma’s Astra.
There are also other skills that a player can make use of though such as Lianna’s Live to Serve, which is good for Elise or Sakura, as it means a staff user will heal themselves while healing others nearby. Another is Tiki’s Armored Blow, a skill used best for facing bosses, since it keeps enemy attacks from interrupting your own. Overall the support system is a handy tool to hold in the game as it helps improves the characters that you make use of. More than having the ability to lead Ryoma with Armored Blow and Sol to compliment his Astra you get to enjoy some good character conversations as well.
However, not all characters will be having a support system, only those who have the option of getting an A+ rank will get to enjoy a brief talk when that rank is achieved. If a player wishes to know which combinations will earn such can do so by visiting the Convoy between maps, going to Select Character, checking their Status, and looking at Support.
