Remember the Contra video game series? Have you imagined this nostalgic video game to have its own live-action TV show and live-action film?

Starlight, a Beijing-based company has confirmed that they will be producing a Contra live-action film as well as a live-action series. Productions of these two projects are now underway in China.

Contra first started as an arcade game which was in an instant hit in its debut in 1987. Since then, it branched out to other game consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Nintendo DS to name a few. The game was also included in the Arcade Archive series which was released for the PlayStation 4 last year.

Other games that are part of the series are the arcade sequel Super Contra and Contra III: The Alien Wars.
