Rumors have been circulating last Thursday on news websites like Daily Cyzo and Livedoor that Yoko Kamio’s popular manga series hit Boys Over Flowers will be getting a live-action series.

Finally, Kamio officially posted a statement on Twitter that says, “I believe that authors shouldn’t respond to false rumors like this, which is why I hadn’t talked about it. But a lot of people have been asking me, and it’s even trending, and so many people have been asking me to stop the rumors. It’s been hard not to comment on it, so I’ll leave only one comment: There will be no remake of Boys Over Flowers. It’s a mystery to me how this story got started.”

According to rumors circulating online, the show will be produced by TBS that will be premiered in April the lead role for this remake will be Suzu Hirose.

The popular manga series Boys Over Flowers centers on the bright girl named Tsukushi Makino who gets admitted to the prestigious elite school Eitoku Academy.
