With the fourth season of the sports series, “Yowamushi Pedal” titled, “Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line” set to be released in January 2018, there will be a special screening looking back the previous season of the anime. This will be taking place from November to December 2017 and will be divided into three parts and will all be taking place at TOHO Cinemas Nihonbanshi.
The first screening will be taking place on November 3, starting at 19:00. Showing at the event is the 7th and 8th episode of the third season, called “The Last Meet” and “Finish Line” respectively. Taking place after the showing is a special appearance by cast members Hiroyuki Yoshino, the voice of aggressive all-rounder Yasutomo Arakita and Kenji Nojima, the voice of second-year Yukinari Kuroda.
Followed after this is a second screening taking place at 18:00 on November 11 with a cast appearance by Daiki Yamashita, who plays as otaku protagonist, Onoda Sakamichi and Kousuke Toriumi, who plays as the ambitious Shunsuke Imaizumi. Screening on this second part of the event is the 16th and 17th episode of the previous season.
For the 3rd and final part of the event, it will be open on December 10 and will be screening the 19th and 20th episode from the previous season along with expert guest. Tickets to attend the event are set at a price of 2,500 tickets for regular seats, around 1,000 or so for premium box seats and 3,000 plus for luxury seats. They will be available on October 28, November 4 and December 3 respectively.
The “Yowamushi Pedal” series is a sports manga that takes focus on the sport of cycling races. Written and illustrated by Wataru Watanabe, it began in 2008 in the 12th issue of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion and currently has 51 volumes. The series later gained an anime series in 2013 and has so far reached a total of 3 seasons.
In the beginning of the series it told of Onoda Sakamichi’s story and his journey towards winning the Inter-High with his team after starting off as an otaku who simply wanted to create a club to befriend people. Now with the latest seasons, the seniors have graduated, new challenges have arrived and a change has come for all teams.
