The Original Tamagotchi Returns to the U.S. to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Posted in: Anime News

We all remember the Tamagotchi, the handheld digital pet devices produced by Bandai.

As a way to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the company will be re-releasing the original Tamagotchi for the U.S. If you have missed those times of getting lack of sleep just to feed and take care of your digital 8-bit pet, then this one is definitely for you! In Japan, the original Tamagotchi was re-released last April under a different name called “Kaette Kita! Chibi Tamagotchi” (They’re Back! Mini Tamagotchi).

This popular device was first released in 1996 and Bandai confirms that the reissue will have the same face plates as well as same graphics as the original with over 6 Tamagotchi designs to choose from. They are expected to release on November 5 sold at 14.99USD each.
