1996 Edition Calendar of ‘Slam Dunk’ Gets Revived for a 2018 Edition

Posted in: Anime News

Before the hype of basketball anime like Buzzer Beater and Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko’s Basketball), there was Slam Dunk.

Back in 1996, an official Slam Dunk calendar was released and those who were die-hard fans of the franchise consider this as one of the most must-have items. Here is some good news for you—the same calendar will be getting a new release for 2018! If you have missed this show, then this is definitely an item that you should really get.

The “remastered” version of the calendar will be reprinted by Ensky and promises that it will have the same art and design as the 1996 version. Feeling nostalgic yet? The calendars will be on sale starting at the end of the October at 1,800 yen (for the wall calendar) and 1,500 yen (for the desk calendar).

The original Slam Dunk manga first ran in the Weekly Shounen Jump from 1990 to 1996 and was compiled in a total of 31 volumes by Viz Media. It got even more popular when its anime adaptation was first aired in Japan from 1993 to 1996 with several anime films.

If you miss Slam Dunk, then this calendar would be another part of your nostalgic anime collection.
