Manga to Anime Thoughts: Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara

Posted in: Anime News

Synopsis

This is the tale of a female manager named Chisato who at work is as serious as can be yet works her hardest but behind this aloof figure there lies a cute character that comes out with a good drink created by her husband Sora.

Manga Thoughts

The overall plot of the story is fairly simple and there’s a bit of room for some comedy, and of course a little romance seeing as this is the story of a married couple. Each chapter is generally short but they all leave on a rather satisfying note and the fact that each chapter even has a small note of instructions on the drinks makes for a fun tidbit of knowledge to have. On the note of the characters, they hold a rather sweet relationship but as the series progress you can’t help but notice the pattern of her trying to resist a drink only to fail. Personally, it can get a little on the repetitive side, but the fact that the series manages to explore outside of the house setting though is a good point of development.

Being such a short and simple series with a cute couple who are simply enjoying drinks, there is little negativity to be said about it other than the way the characters are done. Looking at them as individual characters, there is not much personality aspects being explored other than Sora being a laid back and positive type of person who cares deeply for his wife and has a skill for making drinks and Chisato being a mostly serious type of woman who is more honest and cute when drunk and has a love for drinks. Well, looking at the bigger picture, they do have a sense of framework to them at least and the entire manga is still a joy to read.

Anime Impression

The overall introductory scene differs from the first chapter of the manga but the rest of the episode remains faithful to what the manga presents. Being such a short work it was to be expected that the anime wouldn’t stretch so far as 20 plus minutes but it was nice at least that they were able to maintain the general flow and gave a smooth execution. Similar to the art style and flow of the manga, the art style and animation work is generally simple but still has a charm to it with how it is presented. Being such a short episode, not much judgement can be passed on it other than it was a rather solid intro to the series and the fact that they still maintained the instructions on how to make the drink is still fun.

Overall Rating: 8/10
