Expect Fewer Pages in Upcoming New Chapter of ‘Welcome to the Ballroom’ Manga

Posted in: Anime News

Tomo Takeuchi’s manga series Welcome to the Ballroom will only have a few pages in the November issue of Monthly Shounen Magazine which will debut on Friday.

The reason for the lesser pages this month is due to the author’s health and the magazine notes confirm that Takeuchi is now preparing for the future chapters. It’s not for certain yet if the manga will be reaching its end.

Welcome to the Ballroom was first launched in the mentioned magazine in 2011 and has so far published a total of nine volumes. Kondansha Comics was able to release the manga’s seventh volume on September 12 in English. The popularity of the manga series has paved way for an anime adaptation (produced by Production I.G.) that premiered on July 8. The series is expected to end in a total of 24 episodes.

The manga is a Manga Taisho awards nominee as is listed as one of the best manga of 2013 in both Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook and Comic Natalie.

About the Series (as Described by Kondansha):

Feckless high school student Tatara Fujita wants to be good at something – anything. Unfortunately, he’s about as average as a slouchy teen can be. The local bullies know this, and make it a habit to hit him up for cash, but all that changes when the debonair Kaname Sengoku sends them packing. Sengoku’s not the neighborhood watch, though. He’s a professional ballroom dancer. And once Tatara Fujita gets pulled into the world of the ballroom, his life will never be the same.
