A new hero joins the ranks of the ”Future Avengers” crew, the latest anime work to tackle Marvel Superheroes. Revealed in an early look at the upcoming episode, the new character is none other than the the New Jersey-based shape-shifter who was Marvel’s first Muslim character, Miss Marvel.
For this week’s episode, the focus is on to the passing of a superhero registration law, something that cropped up in the aftermath of the battle between The Hulk/Bruce Banner and The Green Goblin.
As for those who may not be familiar with the character Miss Marvel, here are some details. Miss Marvel, who in reality is named Kamala Khan in this version at least, is a Pakistani American from Jersey City, New Jersey with shapeshifting abilities. Her abilities which were a latent inhuman heritage was activated by the Terrigen Bomb, a bomb that was meant to remove all genetic and racial differences at first then second became a device to be used in anticipation of Thanos’ arrival.
In addition to being a new character for the series, Miss Marvel is also a part of a Japanese publicity campaign for comics that includes collected edition covers by Shigeto Koyama, Gurihiru and Shunya Yamashita.
“Future Avengers” is as stated, the latest anime adaptation of the superhero franchise and was first released in July of this year. Working as the director for this series is Yuzo Sato and he will be working with Madhouse production. For the cast, there will be returning members from the “Disc Wars Avengers” series by Toei including for the heroes:
Eiji Hanawa as Iron Man
Kazuhiro Nakaya as Captain America
Yasuyuki Kase as Thor
Kenichirou Matsuda as Hulk
Kaori Mizuhashi as Wasp
Even Deadpool, who is voice by Takehito Koyasu will be joining in on the returning cast.
As for the original cast of the anime work, they include, Aki Kanada, Atsushi Tamaru and Juri Kimura for the hero-kids and Shinya Hamazoe as a young villain. With the new series, more focus will be placed onto newer and newly prominent heroes such as the Miles Morales version of Spiderman.
When the series was first revealed, so was the story which tells of a young boy named Makoto. Due to an eil gene manipulation gene, Makoto along with other youths, end up being apprenticed by the Avengers as “Future Avengers” and this begins their journey of training, fighting and growth under the wings of heroes such as Iron Man and Captain America.
