A look back into the “Fullmetal Alchemist” is out with a 60-second special trailer posted on the official website of the upcoming live-action film. Featuring art and clips, the video is titled, “You can learn about Hagaren in one minute.”
In the video there is a mix of Arakawa’s manga arts, footage from the two TV anime series and the live-action film, all to give a brief history of the classic shounen supernatural series. The film is set to be released in Japan with a theatrical run starting on December 1.
But prior to this premiere date, there will be a world premiere to be held at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) on October 25 with a star appearance by Ryosuke Yamada, the man who will be playing as Edward Elric.
Directed by Fumihiko Sori and written by Hiromu Arakawa, this will be the first ever live action adaptation of the manga series created by Hiromu Arakawa. Casted to play as main characters in the film are the following:

Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell
Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang
“Fullmetal Alchemist” is originally a manga series that was first serialized in August 2001 by Square Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine. The series had a total of twenty-seven tankoubon volumes compiled before ending in June 2010 and is styled after the European Industrial Evolution.
The story of the series and the film tells of an alternate world set in 20th century where alchemy exists and is both highly developed and respected. Starring in the series are siblings Edward and Alphonse Elric. Due to an attempt at a forbidden technique of human transmutation, Alphonse loses his entire body while Edward loses his left leg.
In order to save his brother’s soul, he sacrifices his right arm and places his brother’s soul in a metal suit of armor. With an arm and leg prosthetics made of “automail” he gains an acceptance gains acceptance into the State Alchemists and is given the nickname “Fullmetal Alchemist”, and thus begins the tale of his and his brother’s journey in search of the philosopher’s stone to restore their bodies.
On another note, there are now a total of 50,000-limited second edition advance tickets with a A5-size clear file using a manga art and a live-action visual found in the Japanese theaters 3rd trailer.
