The upcoming “EVIL OR LIVE” sci-fi series based on a webcomic series of the same name now has a confirmed premiere date. The anime will be making its way onto TOKYO MX on October 10.
A schedule is also officially set for the series and is set to start first at 5:41 p.m.
To mark the announcement, a PV was also released depicting certain images revealing the hidden truth of the Facility along with a key visual.
The series is a Tencent webcomic by Li Xiaonan and takes on a escape theme. The story sets itself in a world where an “illness” is spreading amongst teens and youths as their attachment to the internet and technology grows in result of their growing loneliness and outrage for the world.
In order to prevent this illness from spreading a certain Rehabilitation Facilities are created and it is in one Elite Retraining School that the protagonist of this story, Hibiki, enters. Upon entry into this
Facility, he discovers it to be nothing more to be a prison and with this marks his journey of either facing the challenges ahead or despairing in this hell.
Directing the series is Dong Yi and he will be working with Shantian Gaifan, the executive producer for the adaptation. Acting as the animation producer are Zhang Yuan and Chen Weiwen. Taking the role of art director is Lin Zhengzhe. Then working for the production and animation production of the series are the TENCENT/EVIL OR LIVE Production Committee and Emon respectively.
An opening theme is also set for the series titled, “Soredemo Boku wa Ikite Iru” which translates to “I’m Still Alive.” Performing the song is
For the cast there are three members confirmed at the moment. Taking on the role of protagonist Hibiki is Shinichiro Ueda, who previously worked on the CG (Computer graphics of “Android Ana Maico 2010.” Voicing the mysterious student Shin is Kouki Uchiyama, who will also be acting as Ruth in the upcoming series, “(The) Ancient Magus’ Bride.” Lastly, acting as the voice of student council president Shiori is Chika Anzai, the voice of Mina Caroline in the popular shounen action series, “Attack on Titan.”
