Long time running franchise “Kamen Rider”, mainly known for its variety of adaptations is taking on the gaming world once more. Titled, “Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters”, the game will be for playable on the PS4 console and has Bandai Namco taking charge of it.
Set in be released in Japan on December 7, 2017 the game already has a sneak peek of Rider fighting action shots with a short commercial video. It has been around 5 years since the last release of a game for the franchise and only so much details have been released.
“Kamen Rider” in general, is noted as a metaseries of, tokusatsu television series and films(works with a considerable use of special effects created by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori.
The franchise first began in 1971 with the “Kamen Rider” television series. As time passed, the franchise grew in popularity as the original series resulted in sequels being made and the overall franchise impacting the superhero and action-adventure genres in Japan.
Generally, the story of the series tells of a motorcycle-riding superhero with an insect based theme who fights supervillains, often known as “kaijin”, otherwise known as giant monsters.
The latest series of the franchised released is a web series entitled, “Kamen Rider Ghost: Legendary! Riders’ Souls!” and has around 7 episodes.
In the video game side of the franchise, there are also a variety of works for different consoles. As stated from its title, “Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters” is to be part of the “Kamen Rider: Climax” game series.

The first “Climax” game came out in August 2009 and as part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Heisei Kamen Rider Series by Toei, TV Asahi, Ishimori Productions, and Bandai. From 2009 to 2012, its following sequels were all released as Wii compatible single-player fighting games and one was even based on the “Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight” TV series.
