Sentai Filmworks Opens a GoFundMe Campaign for their Staff Affected by Hurricane Harvey

Posted in: Anime News

Hurricane Harvey is considered as one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit Texas in years. A lot of families lost their homes and some were only left with only a little of their possessions.

In relation to the recent tragedy that happened in Houston, the company Sentai Filmworks has opened a GoFundMe campaign on Friday as a way to help its employees to get back on their feet following the devastating hurricane. Below contains the company’s message in relation to the campaign:

Dear Anime Community,

Hurricane Harvey has wreaked devastation on our beloved Houston and adversely affected numerous Sentai employees. Many have been left homeless, car-less, or have been displaced seeking refuge elsewhere.

Please help us get our Sentai Team back on its feet and raise $500,000 to assist our employees and their families in this time of need. 100% of donations will go directly to affected employees. No donation is too small!

Please help spread the word to friends, family, and colleagues via text, email, or social media.

All Our Best,

Sentai Filmworks

The company assures donators that 100% of the money earned in the campaign will be given to its staff members who were highly affected by the recent hurricane. They have also confirmed that the affected staff members and their families are safe. Section23 Films, the parent company of Sentai Filmworks confirmed that their office was not unharmed and remained business as usual since their warehouse is not based in Houston.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in southeastern Taxas last weekend causing severe damage and flooding—Houston being one of the most affected cities. Another anime company Funimation Entertainment is based in Northern Texas and also doing a relief campaign for those who were affected.

If you have the time and the heart, please do donate. Every donation will really go a long way and it would really help the affected staff and their families to get back on their feet and start again.
