After Complaints of Bad Body Odors, Company Offered Free Deodorant During SKE48’s Handshake Event

Posted in: Anime News

Have you ever attended an otaku-related event and you are welcomed with the unpleasant body odors from some attendees? I’m pretty sure you were able to encounter this in one con or two.

In response to the Twitter posts made by SKE48 member Kaori Matsumura regarding a female fan complaining about the “unbearable” body odors while in the line with other attendees of the group’s handshake event, a Japanese body product maker Mandom gave away free of its Gatsby deodorant and body spray products to the attendees on the said event on Friday.

The handshake event was organized along with the promotion and release of SKE48’s 21st single titled “Igai ni Mango”.

Although the distribution was a little bit too late, the group hopes that this experience will remind attendees to practice proper hygiene before attending such events in the future.
