Snapchat continues to be one of the most used and popular mobile phone application and social media site. It is mostly known for its app that allows filters to a person’s selfie like adding a dog’s tongue and ears, cat ears, and so on.

For a limited time through Wednesday, you will be able to take your pictures and add a Pikachu filter on them. This will give your selfies to have Pikachu ears, nose, and cheeks. If you open your mouth, you will be able to “call” Pikachu to join in your picture. More information of the filters can be found here.

Pokemon’s first stage of international popularity began on its handheld GameBoy Color and trading card game. The immense hype has paved way for an anime adaptation which has been received well by both children and adults alike. Aside from the mentioned Pokemon media, it also had its Augmented Reality game Pokemon GO which is still one of the most downloaded applications for both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

The 20th Pokemon movie titled Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! continues to dominate the Japanese box office on its fifth week of screening and is now earning 2.5 billion yen so far. This is so far the highest grossing Pokemon movie beating the gross sales of the previous titles like Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. It first premiered in the Japan Expo convention in France last July 6, 2017 in original Japanese dub with French subtitles then its official premiere in Japan was on July 15, 2017.
