Also known as the fifth episode of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime, the episode is to be the first of the series’ “Loum Arc” and will be officially making its debut in Japan on September. Not only will the episode be shown in 35 theaters, which is double the amount of previous episodes that had only 15 theaters, but the episode has also double in screen time as rather than the usual two week screening, the episode will be having a four week screening.

For those who may not be familiar with this franchise, “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin” is a franchise that first began as a manga created by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer for the Gundams and the chief director and storyboarder of the anime. Spanning with a total of 23 volumes, the manga series was in fact inspired by the story of the main “Mobile Suit Gundam” anime.

The main story of the series tells the tale of characters Casval Rem Deikun, otherwise known in the franchise as Char Aznable and his sister Artesia a.k.a. Sayla Mass. In the previous episode released, “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin IV Eve of Destiny”, the story follows the success of the Dawn rebellion as Char travels to the Earth city of Manaus and political disturbances come to rise with the Republic of Zeon and Side 7.

In addition to the release of stream videos, details on the arc have been revealed as well. Set to end on the sixth episode of the franchise and titled “Rise of the Red Comet”, the “Loum Arc” takes focus onto the Battle of Loum. This is known as the pivotal conflict during the One Year War’s early days and marks the past of the “Mobile Suit Gundam anime.”

It is in this arc, the tale takes on Char Aznable”s journey as he earns the title of the legendary “Red Comet” in his battle in the war and as a force against the antagonist Amuro Ray. More than the tale of a young man turning into a legend, the new episode also takes on the tale of Sayla as she live in the tranquil Side 7 colonies along with the Zeon pilot Ramba Ral and his lover Hamon, and Amuro and Fraw Bow before the specter of war visits them.

On another note, a digital release of the series through a rental streaming program is being released by Anime Consortium Japan along with a series of home video by Right Stuff in collaboration with Sunrise.
