Your favorite kid detective is still not done solving the hardest cases. The 1000th chapter of Detective Conan will be released on this year’s 37th and 38th issues of Weekly Shonen Sunday. This is the only manga series so far in the publication that have reached this total of number of chapters. With the ending still not for certain, it’s expected that we still get to read more of Shunichi Kudo’s (alias Conan Edogawa) adventures in the next chapters.
The Detective Conan manga was first published in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1996 and so far is one of the most popular manga series in Japan to date. It centers on a boy named Conan who is actually the high-respected teen detective Shunichi Kudo. His body was shrunk after taking a mysterious drug from unidentified men. Together with Ran Mori and his father detective Kogoro Mori, they solve the most complicated cases and bring justice to any crime they face.
The franchise was able to premiere its 21st film titled Meitantei Conan Kara Kurenai no Love Letter (Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter) on April 15 and is considered the highest-grossing film from the rest of its previous movies. To date, the manga has printed over 200 million copies worldwide.
Now cue in nostalgic ending theme!
