The wait is on for the new season of “Attack on Titan” but fans won’t have to wait for next year to see more of the highly popular action series. For Kodansha Comics has confirmed that an anime adaptation is to come for the “Attack on Titan’s” spin-off manga “Attack on Titan: Lost Girls.”

For those who may not know what this is, here is some background. “Attack on Titan: Lost Girls” is a spin-off manga with three stories and was first launched in August 2015. It is based on a novel of the same name and had a serial licensed by Kodansha with Ryousuke Fuji as the writer and illustrator.

The main story of the work tells of characters Mikasa and Annie with three different tales to take on the girls’ histories.

The first story which is titled “Wall Sheena, Goodbye” tells of Annie perspective on the day before the Survey Corps head out on a mission to find a lost girl named Carly. During the search mission however, Annie gets separated and ends up discovering a criminal ring within the Stohess District. Something which may throw a wrench into her secret mission to find the Coordinate for Paradis.

“Lost in a Cruel World”, is the second story of the spin-off and it takes on a parallel world where Titans did not exist and takes focus on Mikasa’s perspective. In this universe, while she was able to grow up with her parents by her side, she still manages to meet Eren Yeager and thus a new form of their friendship is told.

The final story is where the main title of the spin-off comes in and takes focus on both girls. Here, it tells of their brief encounter during their military days and how they end up talking about their training regimes and even touch on more personal topics such as why they joined the military.

News and promos have been circling around Twitter on the franchise and promo from WIt Studio was what confirmed the anime adaptation for the spin-off. Little details have been released on the work but what is known is that it will be a 3-part OVA miniseries and will be including an upcoming “Attack on Titan” manga bundle which collects volumes 24 to 26. Further details on the OVA will be released by Wit Studio the closer the release is.
