Manga Featuring Adults and Video Games Neto-Jū no Susume Gains Anime

A new anime featuring the life of video game players is heading to the screen as Rin Kokuyō’s manga series Netojū no Susume (Recommendation of the Wonderful Virtual Life) turns into an anime adaptation.

Confirmed on Wednesday by the manga website and app Comico, already the series has already released a complete list of staff, cast, theme song performers, and premiere date on it official website. In addition to all of this, the newly opened site also holds an official trailer for the upcoming but is region-locked in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and South Korea.

The manga series created by Kokuyo was first released in October 2013 and is currently in the works in Comico with two volumes published by Kokuyou. However, the series continues to be in hiatus due to Kokuyo not being well enough to continue the series.

Moriko Mirioka is the protagonist of this series’ tale, and she is a 30-year-old single woman who quits her job in order to play online games and escape the, in her eyes, the “crappy society” and “3D Life.” Taking on the image of a handsome male swordsman, she paves a way in her new “reborn” life.

The series will be having a total of 10 episodes and will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX on October 9 at 25:40 (effectively October 10 at 1:40 a.m.) At a later date the series will be broadcasted on Yomiuri TV at the same time as the debut. Another confirmation for the series is a Blu-ray Disc box set December 8 and bundled in it is an additional 11th episode of the series.

Acting as the director of the series is Kazuyoshi Yaginuma, who previously worked as a key animator and storyboard artist. With him as the assistant director is Saori Den, also known to have worked in animation before such as the 2nd Key Animation of “Naruto Shippuden.”
Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, the series composer of the comedy series, “Hetalia The Beautiful World” is taking on the role of the series composer for the series. Working as the character designer is Senbon Umishima, the character designer behind the “Colorful Ninja Iromaki” film. Then for the music, Conisch, the composer for “Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal” will be taking charge.

With the trailer, it gives a sneak peek into a fantasy world where an “innocent boy” and “pretty girl” are meeting one another only to reveal that it is in fact an online game being played a 30-year-old by the name of Moriko Morioka. Included in the video is preview to the opening theme song titled “Saturday Night Question”, performed by Megumi Nakajima and the ending theme song, “Hikari, Hikari”, performed by Yuka Aisaka.

For the cast, there are two types introduced, the characters of the real world and the characters of the game world.

In the real world side there is Mamiko Noto, the voice of Mavis Vermilion in “Fairy Tail” taking on the role of protagonist Moriko Morio.

Voicing Yuuta Sakurai is Takahiro Sakurai, who voiced as Tazaki in “Joker Game.”

Tomoaki Maeno, who played as Michele Crispino in the highly popular series, “Yuri!!! On Ice”, will be playing as Howare Koiwai.

Taking on the role of Kazuomi Fujimoto is Takuma Terashima, recognized for his role as Saburou Togusa in “Durarara!!”

With the game world side of the series, there is Ryouta Suzuki playing as Hayashi, having played as Teruaki Nagata in the horror series, “Osama Game.”

Playing as Lily is Reina Ueda, who is currently playing the role of Shiori Shinomiya, in “Sakura Quest.”

Voicing Kanbe is Yuuichi Nakamura, the voice actor of Ikuto Tsukiyomi in the shoujo series, “Shugo Chara.”

The voice behind Kotone Noda in “Sakura Trick”, Yuka Aisaka is voicing Lilac

Himeralda is being by Takanori Yagi, the voice of Shirou Kusunoki in “Joukamachi no Dandelion”

Lastly, voicing the character Pokotarou is Kazuhiro Sunseki, who prior to this role, majority played as a side character.
