‘Fairy Tail’ Creator Celebrates Manga’s Successful End

Earlier this month, the staff of the Fairy Tail manga gave Hiro Mashima, the series creator, a glass trophy to commemorate the series’ successful end. The last chapter of Fairy Tail has already been released on Wednesday and majority of the fans are grateful that the manga has finally ended after 11 years.


Mashima thanked the fans in separate Twitter posts. He has also expressed the following in one of his tweets:

Today I received a lot of messages from various people. Thank you so much for everything up to now! Fairy Tail has become a work loved around the world, and before I knew it, it became something that is not only mine. So I also want to thank Fairy Tail. I am who I am now because of Fairy Tail. Thanks, Fairy Tail!

The manga series may have ended, but there seems to be no stopping this franchise just yet. It was announced recently that the “final season” of the manga’s anime adaptation is slated to premiere in 2018. Two volumes of the manga have not also been released as well. There are also hits that the franchise still has some events being planned out in the future. As what Mashima said previously “the series doesn’t feel like it’s over.”

If you guys wanted to see this awesome guy in the flesh, Mashima is one of the confirmed guests in this year’s New York Comic Con which will happen on October 5 to 8 at the Javits Center. If you’re in the area, be sure not to miss this chance!

Last May, Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry premiered in Japan and was rumored to be the ending of the franchise’s anime adaptation. Shortly after the opening day of the movie, it was announced that the manga series will now have a few chapters left and will be ending officially this year.

The story of Fairy Tail begins with Lucy Heartfilla, a seventeen-year old wizard who ran away from to join the Fairy Tail guild. The guild is popular in the fictional world of Earth-land due to the wizard members there are filled with a lot of antics up their sleeve. She was actually invited to the guild by a “dragon slayer” wizard named Natsu Dragoneel. Along the way, Natsu and Lucy and acquainted with more members into the guild like Gray Fullbuster and Erza Scarlet as the go through different guild missions together and deal with evil forces along the way.
