It seems that the Nintendo Switch has taken the world by storm. In a sales data report released by Nintendo, the company was able to sold more than 4.7 million units of Nintendo Switch worldwide. Aside from this, over 13.6 million units of Nintendo Switch software were also sold.
Despite these huge numbers however, the Switch still hasn’t reached the same levels as Nintendo’s previous manufactured consoles. According to the worldwide sales report, the Nintendo DS is has so far reached the highest number of units (154.02 million) and software (948.57 million) sold. This is followed with the Nintendo Wii (101.63 million on units, 918.19 million on software), Wii U (13.56 million on units, 99.97 million on software), and the Nintendo 3DS (67.08 million on units, 335.10 million units sold). The Nintendo Switch is last in the rank when it comes to the number of units sold.
Aside from this sales report, Nintendo has also released a list of its top selling games for the Nintendo Switch which is as follows:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (3.92 million copies sold)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (3.54 million copies sold)
1 2 Switch (1.22 million copies sold)
ARMS (1.18 million copies sold).
