13 Million, what a huge number!
It was announced on Thursday on its 119th chapter that Yuusuke Murata and ONE’s popular manga series One-Punch Man has so far printed a total of 13 million copies. As March 30 of this year, the manga was able to reach around 12 million printed copies.
One-Punch Man was originally a web manga by ONE and was later being adapted into a manga series by Murata. Currently, the manga is still ongoing and can be read in the free spinoff website Tonari no Young Jump. The 13th Volume of the manga was released last April 4 and the upcoming 14th volume will be released next week, August 4.
The original manga series is officially published by Viz Media and can be read digitally on the Weekly Shonen Jump anthology and it is also released in print format. The manga’s 12th volume was released digitally on July 18 and will be released in print early September.
The series’ popularity skyrocketed upon the release of its anime adaptation which was aired in Japan on October to December 2015 with a total of 12 episodes. A second season for the anime adaptation of the manga is officially confirmed.
The story of One-Punch Man centers on the adventures and misadventures of the superhero named Saitama who is from Z-City as has the power to defeat villains in just one punch. As he goes on, he has become bored because he is able to defeat a majority of his opponents. On the other hand, he gets very enthusiastic whenever a stronger opponent faces him.
