Posted in: Anime News

At sixteen episodes, “Idol Time Pripara” continues to grow as the second series of the “Pripara” franchise and now the series’ official website introduces two new characters to join its lineup.

Before going into further details, here is some background on both the franchise and the series. “Pripara” which is short for “Prism Paradise”, originally started as Japanese arcade game by Takara Tomy and the successor to the “Pretty Rhythm” arcade game series. It was in july 2014 that an anime adaptation of the game was made and ran for three seasons before ending on March 2017.

As stated, “Idol Time Pripara” is the second series of the “Pripara” series and was first released on April 4, 2017 with currently 16 episodes released.

The story of the series tells of a girl named Yui who dreams of being an idol even if that dream may seem next to impossible for her. One day she finds that a PriPara idol theme park has opened in her hometown of Paparajuku and will be starring the idol Laala. With this piece of news Yui’s dreams grows even bigger. However, with the new park being updated with new concepts, an error seemed to have occurred and Laala is no longer able to Pripara Change

The main cast for the series comprise of:

Arisa Date as Yui Yumekawa
Azusa Satou as Falala
Himika Akaneya as Laala Manaka
Yō Taichi as Nino Nijiiro
Yuina Yamada as Michiru Kōta

The first of the two new characters to be introduced is a girl who sleeps within the clock tower of Paparajuku named Falala. She plays the harp but only during the times she wakes up once in awhile. Well known by the Punikon mascots, she only makes her appearance during Super Idol Time to grant Rare Coord. She will be voiced by Azusa Satou, who previously voiced as Fuwari Midorikaze for the “Pripara” franchise.

Then there is Galala, the second character to be introduced and with lesser details known about her. What is known is that she looks very similar to Falala and seems to be connected to the reason why she sleeps so much.

There is no confirmation as of yet when these characters will make their appearance.
