Hunter X Hunter is a manga series created by Yoshihiro Togashi (the husband of Sailor Moon manga artist and creator, Naoko Takeuchi) which centers on a boy named Gon Freecs who is determined to become a Hunter and to find his father who abandoned him when he was young.

The manga was first launched in 1998 in the Weekly Shonen Jump and so far published a total of 32 compiled volumes in English in April 2014. The manga series went on hiatus but finally returned on June 26. The original anime series aired in Japan from 1999 to 2001 and had several OVAs released as well.

Here’s a synopsis of the Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rogue film as describe by Viz Media:

A tale of friendship, betrayal and vengeance based on the hit Shonen Jump series!

Once there was a small tribe of people called Kurta lived in a lush and beautiful forest. One day, a group of bandits known as the Phantom Brigade attacked and killed the entire population but one. Their quest was to obtain the eyes of the Kurta people; eyes that turn a brilliant red when excited. Known as the Eyes of Rouge, this color is considered one of the seven most exquisite hues in the world. The sole survivor is none other than a boy named Kurapika. To avenge his people, he has become a Hunter.

It’s about time to mark your calendars in Spring 2018 for this is a anime film that you shouldn’t miss!
