The 10th anniversary has officially arrived for the gender bender/romantic series “Oresama Teacher” and to celebrate this, the series will be having a special feature on July 20 with Hana to Yume’s 16th issue.
Along with the release of the feature, all 24 volumes of the series has also been released with both a regular version and a limited edition, “Drama CD Mini Supplementary Book” containing a drama CD titled “10th Anniversary DISC Side A” and a special manga work.
This will be the first time that the series has gained its own limited edition and for those who purchase either the regular or limited version at any bookstore throughout Japan such as Animeito, Samydodo bookstore, Bunkyodo · Animega etc.they will receive illustrated cards with their purchase.
With the release of the special feature for the anniversary in the 16th Hana to Yume, there will also be a drama CD to be found in the appendix titled "10th Anniversary DISC Side B”; and in the beginning of the volume are comments from the voice actors who took part of the drama CD.
On this note, Eri Kitamura, who just recently played as Celica Arfonia in “Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor” will be playing as the female protagonist Mafuyu Kurosaki in the drama CD. Taking on the role of the lone wolf Hayasaka is Takahiro Mizushima, the voice behind Takurou Serinuma in the shoujo comedy series “Kiss Him, Not Me.”
Voicing the self-proclaimed ninja named Shinobu Yui is the voice actor of Akuru Akutsu in the comedy series, “Aho Girl”, Tomokazu Sugita. As for the staff who worked on the drama CD, Izumi Tsubaki, the writer and illustrator of the series, worked as the writer for the drama CD.
As stated, “Oresama Teacher” is a manga series written and illustrated by Izumi Tsubaki. It was in July 2007 that the series was first serialized by the manga magazine Hana to Yume and until now the series continues to run.
The story of this series tells of high school student Mafuyu Kurosaki, who was once the bancho (juvenile delinquent leader) of the Saitama Prefecture but was expelled and transferred to Midorigaoka Academy after being caught by the police.
Under the threat of being disowned should she get into another fight and discovering that the academy is filled with problematic students, Kurosaki soon ends up becoming (under her homeroom/former neighbor Saeki’s orders) the school’s Public Morals Club, whose goal is to clean up delinquency and to eventually improve enrollment figures.
