With the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist premiering this year, it’s to no surprise that the franchise will be doing collaborations to bring in more fan hype. On Friday, the Japanese smartphone game Monster Strike opens the Monster Strike Alchemy Campaign game event which is in collaboration to the well-loved FMA franchise.
As a way to start off this game campaign, some television commercials were released and have surprised a lot of netizens. “Game Girl Yuka-chan” were in two of these commercials in which she tells the viewing audiences that putting two hands together would bring happiness or becomes game practice. If you have watched or read Fullmetal Alchemist, you know two well that the hand move is similar to how Ed performs alchemy. He then makes an appearance at the end of the commercials.

When Japanese viewers were able to see these commercials, they first thought that they were commercials to promote prayer items for Bhuddists. Last year, the Hasegawa Company released “Happiness Girl Yuka-chan” for the first time explaining the viewing audiences that putting your hands together will be happiness. After that statement, she then says a Bhuddist prayer. The company’s specialty is to create Bhuddist household altars used to prayer for deceased family members. They also create Bhuddist tombstones as well as altar equipment. You check out the said commercial below:
The collaboration of Fullmetal Alchemist and Monster Strike also partnered up with the comedic duo Nakagawa-ke which is comprised of Tsuyoshi Nakagawa and Reiji Nakagawa. In two commercials, the two were playing Monster Strike together as the found themselves transformed into the Fullmetal Alchemist protagonists, Al and Edward Elric. In the game, each character has unique abilities and they are available to be obtained through the current campaign and game gacha. Players will have the chance to get Alphonse, Edward, and the other 12 Fullmetal Alchemist character through Monster Strike’s current event.
A special video released by Monster Strike reveal Al and Ed’s in-game versions. Aside from this special game campaign, players will be able to stream the first ten episodes of Fullalchemist Brotherhood which originally aired in Japan in 2009. Those who participated in the game’s Twitter campaign will also receive some cool stuff too.
