Seems like the Tekken franchise has more surprises most especially for those who are fans of classic arcade-style fighting games. In the Evolution Champion Ship Series 2017 on Sunday, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed that they will be adding Geese Howard as one of the characters in Tekken 7. He is part of the The King of Fighters and Fatal Fury arcade game series created by SNK. Bandai Namco released a video trailer for Geese’s reveal which can be seen below:
Feeling the nostalgia wave yet?
This character first appeared in the Fatal Fury game that was released in 1991 and since then, he was the main antagonist for the franchise as well the ultimate rival of main protagonist Terry Bogard. He also made an appearance recently in the The King of Fighters VIX which is a cross-over fighting game making this his return after a long time. The KoF game was release last August 2016.
This is actually not the only character that got a cameo and cross-over treatment. Akuma from the popular Street Fighter franchise as well as Nina Williams will also be available in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution as playable characters. If you are looking for a video game that would get you into the edge of your seas and give you a sudden nostalgia wave, then Tekken 7 is the game for you!
Bandai Namco Entertainment earlier this month also announced that Tekken 7 game will have a DLC bowling-theme mini-game called Ultimate Tekken Bowl. This DLC is slated for an August 2017 release. Play will be able to pick any character from the fighting game’s roster and use them to play one game of bowling or two. If you want to take a break from all the punching and kicking, then this DLC game is just perfect.
The video below advertises and previews the DLC game:
This isn’t actually the first time that the Tekken franchise introduced these kinds of mini-games for some of its games. Tekken Bowling has been a staple of the game series since the release of Tekken Tag Tournament followed by Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Tekken 7 will be the third game in the entire series to have this kind of mini-game.
