Kudo Wafter, a Spinoff Anime of Little Busters Gains Crowdfunding from VisualArts

At a live streaming program held on Thursday for the comedy series known as “Little Busters”, an official announcement has been made by visual novel developer Visual Art’s that the series’ spinoff visual novel, “Kud Wafter” has an anime adaptation in the works. However, in order for this production to fall through, Visual Art’s will be holding a Campfire crowdfunding campaign on July 18 in order to raise funds for the animation. Already has the streaming program revealed rough character illustrations for the project.

Before any other details, here are some background details to the spinoff that is “Kud Wafter”. It is the Key’s eight adult visual novel game and was first released in Japan in 2010. It was January that Visual Art’s English Facebook page first revealed that the company was making financial plans for the spinoff’s anime.

The story of this tells of Riki Naoe and Kudryavka Noumi and their story following being made to spend their vacation living in the school dormitories while the other members of Little Busters went home for their break.

The problem however, is that the male dormitories are undergoing rennovations and this ends up with Riki offering them to become roommates. The tale then takes a turn into the two learning not only to work out their relationship but also working a way around the ensuring their other dorm members do not learn that their living status, especially with the rules stating against it.

Should the campaign for this work to be turned into an animation be successful, then J.C. Staff will animate the project. In addition to this, those who take part as backer for the campaign have a chance to gain rewards such as signed illustrated paper boards and the right to participate in special events.

A main note on anime is that should it be released, it will be the first part of a celebration to mark the 10th anniversary of the release of Visual Art’s’ Little Busters! PC software. On another note it has been announced that Key will have complete supervision over the anime as confirmed through a separate image announcing the anniversary project and that the theatrical release would be the final objective of the project.
