Yasuhisa Kubo Takes Two Issue Break for Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san

As of Tuesday, the supernatural comedy series that is “Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san” a.k.a. “You’re Being Summoned, Azazel” has been announced by this year’s 13th issue of Kodansha’s Evening magazine to once again be taking a break, and this time it will be for two issues.

“Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san” is a manga series created by Yasuhisa Kubo and was first serialized by Kondasha in 2007 and has been running until now with a current total of 13 volumes. The 13th volume having just been released in Japan in April 2016 it has been confirmed that the 14th volume is slated to arrive on July 21.

The story of this comedic series tells detective Akutabe, his assistant Rinko Sakuma, with the latter learning to attempt to summon demons. Unwittingly she summons two demons and begins an adventure of her and her boss using various magical demons for his cases.

Kondansha, the publication which runs the series is a Japanese publishing company and is recognized as the largest in Japan. It was founded on December 1, 1938 and is noted to have published various magazines for both male and female demographics. The magazine in which the series is published, “Evening”, is a magazine aimed towards adult men.

In the time of its publication until now, the series has been able to earn a nomination for the due to Kubo collecting materials for the manga. Then in 2010 an OVA (Original Video Animation) was created with a running time of 11 minutes. Followed after this, between April and July 2011, an anime series was created and spanned for two seasons with 26 episodes in total and ended on June 30, 2013.

To top things off, the series also gained a DVD set for both seasons in February 2015, released by Rightstuff and a streaming in Crunchyroll in May.

As stated, this is not the first time that the series has gone on a hiatus. Before this, the series went through two hiatuses’, one in May 2014 to January 2015 and the other from July 2016 to February 2017.

The hiatus will be running until July 11 which will be the magazine’s 15th issue and the reason for the series’ recent hiatus is due to Kubo collecting materials for the manga.
