The irregular at magic high school Collaborate with Onigiri Society for Film Premier

Posted in: Anime News

There are many ways in which films have conducted promotional campaigns in order to draw in the crowd and potential viewers. For the fantasy series created by Tsutomu Satou, they have been recognized to have done campaigns involving different food including bean dogs, pickles for the film.

Now with a collaboration with Onigiri Society, the film is adding rice balls to the list of foods used for the film’s campaigns.

The goal of the collaboration is to offer the “strongest of riceballs” to people at Atre Akihabara’s onigiri bento Gyu! and Laforet Harajuku’s onigiri stand Gyu! shops in Tokyo. For each rice ball purchase a person will receive an illustration card with original art in return.

A main prize that fans can receive from the collaboration are B2-size collaboration promotional posters, which they can receive by presenting their ticket stubs from the film to the onigiri bento Gyu! and purchasing at least 500 yen (US$5) worth of rice balls.

There are five different flavors of rice balls available for purchase including umeboshi (pickled plum), spicy mustard leaf, chicken egg, miso mackerel, and salmon green chili pepper and they are priced at 250 yen (about US$2).

The film will be making its debut on July 1-4 by the Aniplex of America to be held at Anime Expo. It is on July 28 that the film will be open in theaters in the U.S.

For the film, it sets around the coming arrival of second spring and that means spring break for both the older brother but less than stellar student Tatsuya and honor student and younger sister Miyuki who just finished their first year at their magic high school. For their break, they head over to the Ogasawara Island archipelago where their villa is located and enjoy their time of peace.

However, this peace is broken upon the arrival of a young woman named Kokoa seeking Tatsuya after having abandoned the Naval Base in order to tell him her one wish.
