Hayate the Combat Butler's Conclusion Brings an Exhibition and Signing Session

Starting off as a manga that was serialized by Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine in October 2104, “Hayate the Combat Butler” has left its mark on the anime/manga community within the genres of comedy and romance. But like many good things, there comes an end, and as of April of this year, the manga created by Kenjiro Hata has ended.

To commemorate the end of the 13 year long series, an exhibition titled as the “Hayate the Combat Butler” Completion Commemorative Exhibition " will be held on July 17 to 23 at GoFa (Gallery of Fantastic art), Tokyo.

Before any other details however, here is some details on the series for those who may not be familiar with it. “Hayate Combat Butler” is a series that tells of a young male named Hayate Ayasaki struggling to meet ends meet, especially with the frivolous spending ways of his parents resulting in them racking up a debt of ¥156,804,000 from gambling and gaining the attention of the Yakuza.

While on the run Hayate encounters 13-year-old Nagi Sanzenin, the sole heir to the wealthy Sanzenin estate and following a unique set of circumstances, not only does Nagi fall in love with Hayate, but she hires him as her new butler. Thus, begins the tale of a rich heiress constantly under danger and her combat butler protecting her.

Prior to the event, on June 16 to be exact, there will be a release of the complete 52 volumes of the series.

At the exhibition, there will be a display of manuscripts and original illustrations. Not only that, there will be commemorative goods up for grabs along with limited autographed items.

Speaking of autographs, there will be an autograph session to be held on June 24, still at GoFa (Gallery of Fantastic art). However, only 50 or so people may be able to attend Kenjiro Hata’s autograph session and they will be chosen by lottery. The exact location of the exhibition can be found at 5-2 52-2 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Aoyama Oval Building 2F with an admission fee of 600 yen for general participants but a free admission for pre-school aged children. Ticket sales will begin on June 10 at 12 o’clock at Lawson Tickets.
