Another new anime is set to arrive in the fall season and this time it is the OVA for the mountaineering themed manga series titled “Yama no Susume” a.k.a “Encouragement of Climb.” Confirmed by the official website, there is also an announcement of a third season for the anime series set for 2018.

Created by Shiro, the slice-of-life manga series was first published in August 12, 2011 and is serialized by Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star magazine. It was in-between January and March 2013 that an anime series was created in January 3, 2013.

The story of the series tells of childhood friends Aoi and Hinata. Between the two, Aoi is described as the one who prefers the indoors and is afraid of heights. Hinata on the other hand is the complete opposite, she loves the outside and mountain. One day they come to the decision to climb a mountain in order to see a sunrise that they once saw as children.

Titled “Omoide Present”, the OVA will be featuring the story of Aoi and Hana and a keepsake. More than making its debut in fall, the OVA will also be having theatrical screenings starting on October 28 at six Aeon Cinema theaters in Japan (two in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Aichi, Osaka).

The four-main cast who have played in the series will be reprising their roles for the new works. So once again, Yuka Iguchi, who plays as Hitachi Chigusa in “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” is playing as Aoi Yukimura.

Returning to her role as the hyperactive Hinata Kuraue is voice actress Kana Asumi, who plays as Sakura in “Pretty Cure Dream Stars!” Then there is the voice behind Mammon/Greed in “Sin: The 7 Deadly Sins”, Youko Hikasa playing as senior student Kaede Saitō once more. Finally, there is Yui Ogara, the voice of Pandora in “Monster Strike” playing as Kokona Aoba once more.

In other news, it has been reported that there has been an offering of seven original items inspired by the series at Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture, the setting of the series, as part of the gift list to the “hometown tax” donors. Due to the positive response by the fans, a new collection of the Encouragement of Climb items will be released by the series.

Further details on this new collection will be revealed at another time.
