"Hell Girl: Yoi no Togi" Presents PV, New Visual and BD/DVD Release

Horror fans mark your calendars for the 14th of July as the beautiful yet chilling tale of “Jigoku Shoujo” a.k.a. “Hell Girl” makes it back to the screen with its first broadcast of its fourth series “Hell Girl: Yoi no Togi.” Along with confirmation is the release of a new visual, a PV and an announcement of a Blu-ray/DVD of the series will also be released.

It has been eight years since the end of the third series for the tale and now here comes the newest series with not only 6 episodes and 6 selections of the entire anime will be making its way to the screen.

Prior to the first broadcast of the fourth series however, it has been reported that there will be a special program to be broadcasted on July 7 at 24:00 to 24:30 at the following stations: TOKYO MX, TOCHYO TV, Gunma TV and BS 11. On July 7, the show will be making an appearance on MBS at 27:10 to 27:40. At the end there will be a July 9 broadcast on Family Theater from 24:20 to 24:50.

The first broadcast which will be on July 14 will be aired on TOKYO MX, TOCHYO TV, Gunma TV, and BS 11 at 24:00 to 24:30 JST. Followed this is a 27:10 to 27:40 showing on MBS. Then on July 16 there will be a showing at 24:20 to 24:50 on Family Theater with a rebroadcast on July 19 at 22 o’clock.

As for the Blu-ray/DVD release, there will be two volumes to be distributed on separate dates. August 23 is the release date for the first volume and September 27 is for the second and both have additional features for fans to enjoy.

These features include booklets and bonus footages, and for those who are able to attain a limited edition of the first will be able to get a three-sided back case containing an illustration done by character designer Oka, Mariko.

“Hell Girl”, a horror mystery series, first began as an anime which first aired in October 4, 2005. Directed by Takahiro Omori and written by Hiroshi Watanabe, the series ran for a total of 26 episodes and ended on April 4, 2006. It was in October 2006 that the second anime series was made, two years late in October of 2008, the third series was aired.

The tale of “Hell Girl” focuses on different tales of different people and the struggles they go through that lead them to seeking what is known as the “Hell Correspondence” website. With this site and at a midnight exactly, they are able to type the name of the person whom they wish to get rid of and summon Hell Girl.

Once she is summoned she hands them a straw doll with a red string tied around its neck. All the person has to do is to pull the thread and punishment will be exacted. But there is catch, in pulling the thread they mark themselves for Hell as well upon death.
