A trailer and official list of characters are reveal for the original anime project that is “Just Because” with the release of an official website by the project’s staff on Tuesday. Before anything though, here is a little background on the anime project.
During the month of April, on April Fool’s to be specific, a website was briefly opened announcing that a new anime would be in production. It was April 28 that the news of the new anime was confirmed by Gekkan’s Megami Magazine.
There are a total of five characters revealed for the upcoming series, three females and two boys. Starting from left to right the first character of the group is concert band member Hazuki Morikawa. She is described as someone who does not stand out in class, is uninterested in romance but has already decided on her preferred college. It is also noted that her family has been tending to a farm since her grandfather’s time.
Next is Haruto Souma, a baseball member who aspires to hit a homerun that he had missed during the summer competition as well as confess to someone that he likes. Amongst the group, he has already secured himself a job after graduation.
Mio Natsumi is the second girl of the group to be introduced. She is described as a girl who has already made plans to enter into enrol into college and has been studying her hardest to do so. But while she faces this, she also faces through the influential feelings of an unrequited crush that she has held since middle school. Another thing to note is that she was both classmates with Haruto and the Eita.
Eita Izumi, the former classmate of Mio and Haruto, is a transfer student who has returned after four years of living away from town. During his middle school years, he was close friends with Haruto and having transferred to the same high school it brings a reunion between the two.
Finally there is second-year Ena Komiya a member of the photography club who plans to enter into a competition in order to save her club from disbanding. In her search for a photo to use, she comes across the reunion of Eito and Haruto.
The story of this anime focuses on the lives of high school students as winter comes and with little time left for the students as the end of the second semester draws closer, most are simply waiting for graduation to approach. But everything changes as after years of being away an old friend and classmate returns and with him he brings a catalyst.
