Meet the Crew and Dream Explorers of the New Puzzle Game Anime "18if"

Posted in: Anime News

Try your own logic against the world of dreams with the new upcoming puzzle game based anime that is “18if” and see how well you do alongside the player characters whom were just revealed for the series. More than on who will be playing the main cast, little details have also been revealed for the trio of characters.

Based on the smart phone RPG / puzzle game by Mobcast titled “18: Kimi to Tsunagaru”, the series falls under the genre of fantasy. It tells of a story set in a realm between sleeping and waking formed by hopes, desires, and fears, the world of dreams. One day, Haruto, the protagonist of the story was trying to take a nap in his room and somehow ended up entering the dreams of others.

From this sudden ability, he somehow enters the dream of a witch wishing for an escape from reality, a condition which is called the “Sleeping Beauty Sickness” and ends up trapped. Now Haruto must figure out a way to escape the fantastical world while also trying to figure out the mystery of his abilities.

Playing as the protagonist Haruto Tsukishito is Nobunaga Shimazuki, whom is recognized for his role as the water loving Nanase Haru in the swimming anime series “Free!” His character is described as the one who upon meeting his fellow characters, gets dragged into the world of dreams.

Lily, a mysterious girl who is noted to travel in and out of the world of dreams, will be played by Kaori Nazuka, the voice of Kisa Soma in “Fruits Basket.” For an unknown reason she is only seen by Haruto and at certain times she refers to him as “Onii-chan” (brother).

Takehito Koyasu, who played as the okama Ryouji “Ranka” Fujioka in “Ouran High School Host Club”, will be playing as Katsumi Kanzaki, who also called the Professor by Haruto. He is a sloppily dressed and ruffled hair man who is studying the dream world and the “Sleeping Beauty Sickness.”

He gains an interest in Haruto after he discovers that the young man meets Luna. When he enters or ‘dives’ as the term goes, into the dream world, he transforms into a gentlemanly cat.
