Presenting: Main Cast and Theme Song Performer for the new Romance Comedy "Gamers!"

Posted in: Anime News

There’s been romances between humans and supernatural beings, royals and lower class characters and most often than not, high school students. This time a new spin to the romance story of gamers comes to the screen titled “Gamers!” and as of Saturday, the main cast, theme song artists, new key visual, and broadcast stations have been revealed for the series.

Originally a light novel created by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Saboten, this is a story that takes on the different gaming lives of various high school students, but in comparison there is no actual entering into the games they play. Rather it takes a look in personal lives of the gamers themselves and how they are in the real world.

There are four main characters for this story, first off there is the lonely Keita Amano who loves video games. Then there is the beautiful president of the video games club which Keita is in, Karen Tendou. Acting as an antagonistic figure that constantly fights with Keita is Chiaki Hosinomori and the final person on the list is Tasuka Uehara, he is a student who actually loves video games but puts up a façade of being satisfied with his life.

Taking on the role of the lonely Keita is Megumi Han, the voice behind Rakitama in “Kami-sama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama.”

Hisako Kanemo the voice of Hinano Kurahashi in “Assasination Classoom” will be playing as the beautiful Karen Tendo.

Voicing the antagonistic Chiaki is Manaka Iwami, who plays as Lakhesh in the recent series “What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?”

Tasuka Uehara is being played by the voice behind Mihaya in “Snow White with the Red Hair”, Toshiyuki Toyonaga.

Though she was given no mention in the story’s summary, this character is also included in the main cast and her name is Aguri. She is going the be played by Rumi Ookubo, the voice of Nona in “Death Parade.”

For the opening and ending theme, voice actresses Kanemoto, Iwami, and Ookubo will be performing the opening. Performing the ending theme is the five-member female unit Luce Twinkle Wink☆.

The staff working on this series comprise of:

Director: Manabu Okamoto
Production: PINE JAM
Series Composition: Hiroki Uchida
Character Design: Tensho Sato

The anime will be having 12 episodes and will be making its debut in July in Japan on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, BS11, and AT-X.
