Monster Strike Takes on Golden Week with "A Rhapsody Called Lucy -The Very First Song-" Special Episode

Posted in: Anime News

Bring out your love for music in this special episode of the fantasy series titled “Monster Strike.” Released on Wednesday by the official Japanese and English YouTube channels for the Monster Strike series, the special titled “A Rhapsody Called Lucy The Very First Song” a.k.a “Zenritsu no Lucifer: Tada Hitotsu no Hajimari no Uta” is a feature piece of anime for the Golden Week.

One of the main differences to note about this special is that there is a different staff working on it than there is for the special episode. Kazuya Sakamoto, the director of the “Air: In Summer” special and a key anime for many anime including the opening to “Death Parade”, worked as the director for the short.

Taking charge of the character designs and having served as chief animation director was Haruka Sagawa, recognized for her work as “Free! Iwatobi Swim Club.” For the planning of the original draft of the episode was Teppei Sunamura.

The composition of the music for the episode is in the hands of MONACA, the music workers for the series “Aikatsu” and “Servant x Servant.” Last but not least, Yoichi Kato, the series composer of “Yo-kai Watch” and the script writer or “Keikkashi” is the writer of the series composition and scenario.

The story of the short itself tells of Lucy and her journey following the disbanding of her band. During her days of lament she meets up with her cousin Lucifer and his bandmate Ibaraki Doji and they ask her to join their indie band known as “Wicked Pistols” in order to become major by winning the “MONSTERS ROCK” competition.

Lucy however rejects the offer outright, though it is not explained. Yet even though she rejected, she found herself contemplating the idea after taking part of a certain event.
