The CLAMP works are highly recognized for their memorable plots, well done character developments and interesting art. One point that makes the works under this name so popular is the fact that a handful of them are connected in one way or another, for example, the popular classic series titled “Cardcaptor Sakura” is interconnected with “Tsubasa Chronicles” and so forth.
But there are also a number of manga series that are not interconnected yet brought interesting plots to the table. Sadly with how popular works such as “Chobits” and “Kobato” are, it is most likely that only the most dedicated of CLAMP fans may recognize the following works listed.
10. Gakuen Tokukei Duklyon
There are a variety of stories of high school students turning into superheroes to save the day in both anime and manga works. This difference with this work is that the freshman males named Kentaro and Takeshi, who done on the their armor and capes to battle the monsters that terrorize their home have more to them that meets the eye.
9. RG Veda
This is a story that has the involvement of gods, a prophecy, politcal power and adventure in search of a way to restore the kingdom. The tale follows the awakening and adventures of a genderless child named Ashura-ō and their quest to search for the “Six Stars” in order to overthrow the cruel ruler Taishakuten.
8. X/1999
After a number of years, a mysterious character named Kamui Shirō has returned and he holds an immense power within him. From his return mysterious things begin to happen and it is centered on the supposed “apocalypse” and the preparations made towards it as he faces his old friends.
7. Gate 7
Here is a familiar idea, an average boy wishes to garner the attention of a female characters, so he goes with the flow and becomes stronger along the way. Together wit other members of Tachibana and Sakura, they fend off the monsters terrorising a town of Kyoto.
6. Suki
Taking a short step away from the works of fantasy, this is a love story of a high school girl that has teddy bears as her beloved companions. And this is not just any normal kind of love story, it is the forbiddden love between a student and a teacher.
5. Rex Kyouryuu Monogatari
It is mainly stipulated that when it comes to dinosaurs, it is the young male group that loves them, not for this story though. In this story, due to a discovery by her father, a little girl finds herself becoming the mother to a baby dinosaur.
4. Clover
In a futuristic world where certain children have the capability to control technology and are identified as “Clovers”. One Clover named Sue is a special case in this world, with a four leaf clover mark she is isolated from the world and because of this she craves for company and wishes to go to what is known as “Fairy Park.”
3. Shin Shunkaden
Taking on a Korean setting, this is a story of a daughter of a mudang named Chun-Hyang, a headstrong martial artist who defends her home from a tyrannical warlord only to have her mother taken away by a mysterious group. With the help of the handsome Mong Ryong, this is a rescue adventure to read.
2. Tokyo Babylon
Taking a step into the supernatural world, this story tells of Subaru Sumeragi, a powerful magician who is called upon different clients to help solve their occult problems. Alongside his twin sister Hokuto and the veterinarian Seishirō Sakurazuka, there are much mysteries to be solved.
1. Wish
A unique love story of it’s own, this tells of a regular doctor named Shuichiro and how he inadvertently helps an angel named Kohaku. In return Kohaku wished to express their gratitude by granting Kohaku a wish, the thing is though, Kohaku did not have a wish to be granted.
