Top 3 Anime About the Relationship Rather than the Romance

Posted in: Anime News

Have you ever wished that there were more anime that gave thought to the relationship that came after the confession rather than leading up to it? True the moments of romance and anticipation of the moments between the main couple are something to anticipate in any romance/shoujo anime. But there comes a point when even the hardest of fans can’t help but get tired of wanting to scream at the to “Just Kiss Already!”

The following listed are those anime that do go through a short moment of romance but actually go beyond the grand confession and actually takes a look onto the relationship between the two characters. For these anime viewers can actually see how the two main charactes are as couple and how they go through any struggle that comes at them.

Golden Time

This is a story of second chances and taking a chance to begin anew even after going through something like loosing one’s memories. Rather than a story of roamcne where a boy meets girl and dance around one another befre confessing, this is a tale of Banri Tada taking a chance at a new life after going through an accident and loosing his memories.

A tale of lose and renewance this is Banri’s story of taking a chance at life and love, to make mistakes and learn from them. More than a romance this a story that takes a look at what it means to make a relationship and the ups and downs of it.

Ore Monogatari

A sweet love story that takes the theme of not judging on one’s appearance and taking the usual stereotypical image of a couple and throwing it out the window. Here we have a giant of a male that oftens intimidates others but has a heart of gold and a female that is a sweet as can be and fell in love with the male simply because she thought he was cool for saving her from a molestor on the train.

Though others may judge the two for being an unlikely couple, the two are happy together and present the sweet moments of being in a genuinely happy relationship without the overexaggeration of constant kisses or overlaid drama of rivals until the end that is, and even then it was played better than the typical love story in anime.

Snow White with the Red Hair

In the beginning we have a unique tale reminiscent of the fairy tale that is Snow White. But rather than the prince saving the girl from a poisoned sleep it is the prince who gets poisoned and te girl who approaches the one that chases her to save his life.

While there is a general romance build between the two of a friednship shifting to a romantic relationship, there is no dramatic climax to their confesion but it is a romantic scene nonetheless of the two promising one another to be a strenght and someone worthy for the other. Throughout the series we see their doubts and their worries in their relationship from their difference in status. It is played off very well and not overexagerrated as some works have done before. This is story that shows what it means for two people to become better people for the other
