Posted in: Anime News

To those who are fans of the To Love-Ru franchise, here is some news that would get you even more hyped.

In the 18th and final volume of the To Love-Ru –Trouble- Darkness manga that was released on Tuesday, manga writer Saki Hasemi stated that though the series is said to be over, it is still not the final chapter of the franchise as future developments are still in the works as of this time.

The last chapter of the To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness was released on March 4. Although the series has ended, two bonus spin-off chapters are slated to be published in the May and June issues of Jump SQ magazine.

The manga’s artist Kentaro Yabuki also made a statement that his next work has absolutely nothing to do with To Love-Ru but joked on the thought of drawing a spinoff with Mikan as cute mahou shoujo or magical girl. Yabuki said that “It would be nice if there is a time and place where I can draw that”.

To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness is a 2010 manga sequel to the first To Love-Ru-Trouble manga series published in Jump SQ magazine. Due to the franchise’s continuous popularity, this paved way for its hyped to be expanded in anime adaptations, OVAs, and so on. This particular spin-off series had its own anime adaptation which first aired in Japan in 2012 with its second season in 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the two season anime and North American anime fans were able to stream them via The Anime Network as well as in Crunchyroll.

As a token of appreciation for its fans and continuing success, a new To Love-Ru Original Video Animation (OVA) will be released along with the 10th anniversary book also to be slated for release on August 4. In case you guys are not aware, To Love-Ru is one of those popular franchise known for its several OVA episodes.

Jus to give you a gist of this manga, it more mature compared to the original To Love-Ru series. The manga is popular for its perverted comedy mostly noticeable in every chapter without sliding back on its plot and serious character and story development. Also, this manga contains quite a lot of fanservice as well some contents that are almost in the borders of henta.

With all that said, there seems to be no stopping this franchise from conquering both the manga and anime industry. Who knows what would the next spin-off series would be!
